My last blog !
At first I thought blogging would be really annoying and boring but now I am so used it, I don't want to stop. Even though at times I had absolutely no idea to write about, it was great to just blab on something that came right off of my mind & that's what all creative writing is about! Not only I enjoyed blogging but also reading everyone's else's blogs and that way I got to know more about my classmates as well. Same with the journal writing in class, I really enjoyed how people came up with topics because it helped me get to know myself better, i discovered a different side of myself and what I like or dislike about something I have never thought of. I am definitely going to continue taking writer's craft classes in the future & improve on my writing and being creative! So I say my last goodbye to blogger dot com =( It was great to leave scribbles here !

Ah school coming up!
This winter break went by way too fast.. I mean I didn't even do much. The first week I was stuck with the piles of homework and assignments that I wanted to get over with. The second week I had to perform a dance for a charity show, went to movies like 3 times and went out with my friends, practiced dance for multicultural. I basically crammed all my plans this week.. and I still have lots of other plans but looks like I don't have much time! Time is really important but I thought I used it wisely because I got the school stuff done before the fun stuff! Oh well now I just can't wait until March break and will plan way ahead of time! Obviously summer will be the best as I will be traveling to India for the whole summer! But yeah my winter break was pretty fun I guess, but I am really broke. I need a part time job but again I am afraid if I will slack off since this is my last year of high school, I should focus to get the good marks.
Women at work today
I had to do a project on Women at work and I thought it would be important to discuss about how some women still face obstacles today. I haven't realized how women still face discrimination in some parts of the world and how they still don't have equal rights as men in work. With obstacles such as discrimination, lower wages, and the lack of management positions, it’s hard for women to compete with men. Women of work is one of the important topics to discuss about, from day to day people don’t realize many obstacles that women faced. Today, women work in nearly every occupation, including astronauts, senators, physicians, surgeons, lawyers and other positions of prestige and importance. Ask any woman if it was difficult to get where she is today and she will tell you that she faced many obstacles that men do not face. Women often face discrimination before they get to their chosen occupation. In many colleges and universities, there is a lack of role models for young women.Men feel that they have lost interest in their jobs and are no longer dependable. When a crisis arises at home, women will leave their jobs and tend to take care of their children. This is not the way, men think, to act. The paying job is all important and cannot be abandoned at any time. For the woman returning to work after being a mother for many years, the path is hard. Unless there is need for a second income, men do not understand why their wife wants to work. There is no emotional support for them if they don't find work in their field because men feel it's not something they need to do. Because they have not kept up with advances in their field, women may not be hired at all. If they are hired, they may be forced into a path within the industry that has no future Women are still facing some obstacles today such as earning an average of 72 cents for every dollar that a man is earning. Such problems can be solved if employers start realizing the inequality that women are still facing and are acting upon them.
Happy New Year !
Happy New year to you all! My new year resolutions are to get a high 80 average for the whole semester, lose at least 20 pounds and make new friends! I spent my new years in Downtown with some of my close friends. It was amazing even though it was freezing cold, getting pushed by crowds everywhere and even though I didn't get to watch the concert at all, I still enjoyed the count down and the huge trouble that I went through to just get home by subway. I felt bad because I saw a kid that was lost crying yelling out daddy and saw a pregnant lady crying since she was getting pushed around. People should be careful when they go to a crowded place like that! I was very thankful to dress warm, and thank god my friends and I ate before the countdown...as we were planning to after new years but that would have been impossible with the huge line ups and booked reservations. I guess it's a new start, a new beginning even though I still feel like nothing has changed. Obviously things can't change over one night! But it's pretty funny to say stuff like "Oh yah it was just last year that I haven't showered since" when really it was yesterday..haha get it? anyways I hope I am catching up with my blogs.. ! :)

Brenda's got a baby
Through a mixture of common occurrences and law violation, Tupac's song titled "Brenda's Got a Baby" is able to strongly convey several influential messages to its listeners. The message of the song is about the issues of teen pregnancy which leads to unemployment and prostitution. Tupac wrote this song after he read a newspaper article about a 12 year old girl who got pregnant from her cousin but did not let her parents know and threw the baby down an incinerator and ended as a child prostitute. Child prostitution happens because of various reasons such as some are coerced, kidnapped, sold, deceived or otherwise trafficked into sexual slavery. Some come from educated, middle to upper-class families where they take to the streets out of rebellion or as away to escape sexual or physical abuse. Also many were born into a life on the streets with mothers and sisters also selling their bodies. It all comes down to one common denominator which is to earn quick money.I think media coverage is definitely good because after listening to that song it gives a strong message to the society to be more careful about their children and how they are treated because it could lead to many problems where you could lose your child. This is a controversial issue because when everybody found out that it was a true story, they respected the song even more and passed on the news

Cold.
why is it so darn cold !? i know.. i understand it's winter, but why does it have to be this cold :( either my house is haunted or my heating just really sucks.. and i can't even get out of bed each morning! i am currently dying as i type this and i feel as if my fingers are going to fall off (k, not really but i'm just that cold!!) .. anyways .. i hate winter, and i hate the cold. Back home, I always wished there was snow since it looked so pretty on televisions and pictures. When I first saw it in Canada, I was so shocked to see such a pretty scenery but the feeling is not so nice. I have a cold with stuffy nose, sore throat and probably going to get fever too. Don't really know what else to write...just a very cold day and feeling very gloomy.

Semi formal 2008
W00t! Semi happened ! It was my first time going to semi in East york.. too bad it got canceled last year. I just don't get why it was hard for people to buy tickets and get together with the school to have fun. So many people made excuses like "my friends aren't going so I am not going" =/ Anyways too bad they didn't go because they sure missed out a lot!! The dinner was pretty good, I didn't expect any food to be there with just $25. I saw lots of people from writer's craft class and they seemed to enjoy the night as well :) Everyone looked gorgeous and it was nice to see people without uniform for ones! I wish there was another semi but it only happens once a year I guess.. which makes me even more excited for prom! Last night was really fun but now I have PILES of homework and assignments. It's crazy how the last week is so hectic. I wish I can just relax in a swimming pool and have some lemonade on a hot summer day in Florida. Since all of my courses involve writing, I have lots of editing and researching to do tonight. The only assignment I am really interested in is the newspaper =D I am really excited since Alex and I get to put it all together so I am really looking forward to that!
